WE LOVE OUR FOUR-LEGGED FURRY BABIES!  All of them!  Short, fat, old, teeny, black, huge, tall, white, young and anything else inbetween!  They don't ask questions; they are just glad when we are home!  They don't care what we wear as long as we can still pet them!  They don't wonder why we are sad; they give us long, wet kisses anyway!  They ask for nothing but give so much.  For these reasons and so many thousands more, we are dog rescuers.  We truly believe in "man's best friend".  We will fight for their right to live as companions and protectors of the human race and we support the spaying and neutering of all pets in order to stop over-population and the senseless euthanizing of shelter animals.

Debbie is an "old-time" dog rescuer, having been former President and Secretary of Purebred Dog Rescue of St. Louis, Inc. in the '80's and '90's along with participation in other dog clubs and events in the area.  Although she has been out of dogs for several years, she has always felt the tug on her heart calling her back to them.  Now being disabled and housebound, she finds herself once again answering the call to rescue in whatever capacity she is able.  So with the help of some very caring dog owners, we have joined together to form "Paw-riffic Animal Rescue, Inc." and we hope that you will help us, to help them.

Paw-riffic Animal Rescue, Inc. is an all-volunteer foster home care organization dedicated to finding homes for both purebreds and mixed breed dogs.  We are currently a small group of volunteers and foster homes but we welcome anyone that is interested in supporting our efforts either with an extra pair of hands or the change in your pocket.

"Radar" is a sweet 1 1/2 yr. old Beagle/Dachshund mix!  He's a southern Missouri misfit that landed in the local animal shelter and ran out of time.  We scrambled to get him out overnight and he is well worth the effort!  He's an absolute doll.  Housebroken, crate trained and loves snuggling! 

"Rowdy" is a 10 mo. old Fox Terrier obtained last July from a dog auction in southern Missouri.  Yep, he's a little "rowdy" but a sweeter guy you won't find elsewhere.  If you are an obedience enthusiast, Rowdy would be an awesome candidate for Agility!  Or maybe a pet owner wanting a jogging companion!  Whatever it may be, Rowdy would certainly use his clownish charm to keep you entertained!  Housebroken, crate trained and just one huge wiggle!

And then there is "Herbie"!  Another death row inmate in a southern Missouri shelter pulled in the nick of time!  He was condemned for being a Lab/Pitbull mix but he has earned the right to be called, the one, the only, THE "Herbie, the Love Bug"!  He can only be described as a dog with an exceptionally sweet heart of gold, housebroken, crate trained and all-around swell guy!  His only fault??  He has A.D.D. and his disabled foster mom can't keep up!!  He doesn't chew on sticks and leaves; he chews on BRANCHES!  Obedience training is a MUST!
