Another Good Month
Monday, September 8th 2008 @ 3:07 PM
August was another good month for us, we were able to secure the funds for the month of September and part of October. :) We were even able to afford the supplies for an electric fence, well partial that is. Our large pasture is bone dry; no grass for the horses. We were able to partition it off with an electric fence and plant grass seed. Hopefully it won't take that long to take hold. We will continue feeding the horses their hay and sweet feed/senior feed until the grass is grown enough to let them have that too. Then we can begin growing grass in the section they are in now. Things are looking up.
Hubby was able to secure a little more business to keep his doors open which is fantastic. Although there is one hotel (shall remain nameless as they know who they are) will NOT pay their bill. We will stop doing security for them shortly because of non-payment. Why can't businesses pay their bills? I am not talking about a little mom and pop business, this hotel belongs to a chain! If I didn't pay my bills I wouldn't last very long, no one would. What makes them any better? Ugh! Even with their non payment we are surviving - thanks to the couple new clients hubby received and some donations we received for the rescue.
Our "Save the Horses Celebrity Auction" will be November 8, 2008. Even though it will be held in Brunswick, GA we are going to be able to open it up to everywhere. We will be accepting Visa/Mastercard during the week of the auction. Anyone who wants to bid on something they may call us with their credit card info, item they are bidding on and the highest bid they want to make. We will also have volunteers to be on the phone with anyone that wants to place bids during the auction. Several items will be on the "silent auction" but we can place your name on those too.
Please visit our website which will give you a link to our 'auction gallery' to see the items we have received so far. We'll be hitting the payement the next couple weeks to get items from local businesses too. Watch for updates.
Until next post! May you all have a Blessed Day!
